On 6 April 2025, the Embassy of Malaysia in Kazakhstan together with Perwakilan Astana hosted a heartwarming and joyful Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at Rumah Malaysia.
This annual celebration brought together a wonderful and diverse group of guests, including members of the Diplomatic Corps, Malaysians residing and working in Astana, academicians, friends of Malaysia, and both home-based and locally recruited staff along with their family members.
Though modest in scale, the spirit of Hari Raya was truly alive, full of warmth, smiles, and togetherness. The occasion served as a meaningful platform to strengthen bonds of friendship, foster cultural understanding, and share the joy of Aidilfitri with our extended Malaysian family and international community in Kazakhstan.
One of the main highlights of the evening was the delightful spread of traditional Malaysian homemade dishes, prepared by the members of Perwakilan Astana. From Nasi Minyak, Chicken Rendang and Daging Masak Hitam to Nasi Impit, Soto, and kuih-muih, the flavours of home filled the air and satisfied many eager taste buds.
Beyond the delicious cuisine, guests also got a taste of Malaysia’s rich and vibrant culture through traditional attire, festive music, and lively conversations that brought people closer together, a true reflection of Malaysia’s unity in diversity.
