ATYRAU, 17 Sept. 2016: Malawakil together with Malaysians in Atyrau participated in a Malaysia-Kazakhstan Culture Day at Kazakhstan International School(KIS). The event was organized by Malaysian volunteers in Atyrau in collaboration with the school.
This public outreach programme was aimed to disseminate information on Malaysia to the local and expatriate community. The Ambassador of Malaysia as guest of honour delivered a welcoming address at the event.
During the event, students of KIS performed 2 Malaysian songs, which are “Rasa Sayang“ and “Chan Mali Chan”. There were also “Teh Tarik” challenge, shadow play (Wayang Kulit) performance, cultural display and information booth/brochure about Malaysia.
The Cultural Day at KIS was a success. The children, parents and guests enjoyed the event. The cultural exchange programme demonstrated many similarities between Malaysia and Kazakh cultures from different perspectives. It managed to reach out to the local community and demonstrated our multi-faceted cultures from different regions of Malaysia.
