ASTANA, 24 July 2016: To advocate healthy lifestyles and promote friendship and camaraderie amongst the ASEAN Community in Astana, the ACA had tasked each ASEAN embassy to organize a sporting activity during the Summer months. The Embassy of Malaysia organized a Friendly Futsal Tournament on 24 July 2016.
The Embassy of Malaysia organized an ASEAN Futsal Friendly Tournament in conjunction with the 49th Anniversary of ASEAN. Five teams (men and women’ category) from ASEAN Embassies participated in the friendly tournament held at Alatau Sports Center.
About 80 ACA members and families gathered as early as 10:00am to watch the tournament and support the participating teams. It was delightful to see that all the players have exemplified the highest spirit of sportsmanship and enjoyed the game. The friendly tournament concluded with a prize giving ceremony by the ASEAN Ambassadors. All participating teams were awarded with medals and trophies for champions of both category.
