1Malaysia Gathering and Chinese New Year Open House,

His Excellency Ambassador ILANGO KARUPPANNAN hosted ‘Perjumpaan 1Malaysia’ for the first quarter of the year on Thursday 21 February 2013 at the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut. The Ambassador briefed the meeting about voting by Malaysians residing overseas. He explained that in line with the regulations of the Elections Commission, the Embassy will be the polling station. Ambassador encouraged all Malaysians to register with the SPR. He also touched on the latest political and security situation in Lebanon and in the region.
In conjunction with this event, the Ambassador and Spouse hosted a Chinese New Year Open House at the Embassy. It was jointly organized by the Embassy and YTL Power Services. More than 60 Malaysians including several expatriates working for YTL Power Services and Malaysian troops serving in the UNIFIL attended the event. The Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, HE Wu Zexian and Spouse attended as guests of honour. The delightful included the tossing of the Yee Sang.
