His Excellency Ambassador ILANGO KARUPPANNAN received a delegation from the Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia (IKRAM) on Saturday, 22 March 2014 at the Embassy in Beirut. IKRAM is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Malaysia.
The delegation was led by Prof. Madya Dr. Hafidzi Mohd Noor and accompanied by ten members. The delegation is currently in Beirut to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk in Damascus, Syria.
During the meeting, the Ambassador briefed the delegation on the refugee situation in Lebanon and the plight of the Palestinians, particularly in the 12 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. He also expressed hope that IKRAM could look into Lebanon for the future humanitarian assistance. The Ambassador also touched on the political and security situation in Lebanon and Syria.
