Mr Johan Arief Jaafar, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut, Lebanon, attended a Networking Luncheon hosted by the Indonesian Embassy in Lebanon, held in honour of Major General Iwan Bambang Setiawan, Commander of the Peacekeeping Centre for Defence Forces of the Republic of Indonesia.
The luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr Dicky Komar, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Lebanon, brought together representatives of Troop-Contributing Countries (TCCs) under the UNIFIL mission. The engagement provided a valuable platform to strengthen cooperation, enhance coordination, and exchange views on the evolving regional security landscape.
On the sidelines of the engagement, Mr Johan Arief also conveyed his deepest condolences to Major General Iwan Bambang Setiawan following the tragic loss of Indonesian peacekeepers serving under UNIFIL in southern Lebanon. The recent incidents, which claimed the lives of three Indonesian personnel amid escalating hostilities.
The Embassy of Malaysia appreciates the warm hospitality extended and reaffirms its commitment to continued collaboration with international partners in support of peacekeeping efforts and regional stability.
