H.E Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan hosted an Iftar for Palestinian old folks from Bourj al Barajneh camp on 20 August 2010. The event which took place at the Embassy of Malaysia, Beirut was also attended by the Malaysian troops serving under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.
Earlier on 16 August 2010, the Ambassador hosted another Iftar for the Malaysian community residing in Lebanon at the Embassy of Malaysia, Beirut. It was also attended by Ustaz Hasanuddin Yunus, one of the ‘Wira Negara’ who survived in the Gaza-bound flotilla incident and a media delegation from TV3.
