H.E Ilango Karuppannan had meetings on 23 and 30 September 2010 with Lebanese senior civil servants who are participating in a study tour to Malaysia. The study tour which is taking place from 4-8 October 2010 is designed for the senior officials to learn about Malaysia’s experiences and achievements in the public sector. A total of seven senior civil servants from various Ministries and agencies, covering the fields of public service and administration, tourism, education, agriculture, trade and investment as well as information and communication technology are participating in the study tour.
During the meetings, the Ambassador informed about the programmes that had been arranged for the study tour and expressed hope that the visit would enable the participants to gain maximum benefit from Malaysia’s experiences and also to share their experiences with their Malaysian counterparts. The Ambassador also briefed them about the Government Transformation Program and the Economic Transformation Program pursued by the government of Malaysia. In turn, the Lebanese civil servants expressed appreciation to the Malaysian government for its willingness to host the study tour and share experiences and knowledge in the developments of its public sector.
