Working Visit of the Honourable Deputy Ministers of Defence of Malaysia and Brunei to Lebanon

The Honourable Datuk Dr. Abd Latiff bin Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Defence of Malaysia and the Honourable Pehin Datu Singamanteri Dato’ Seri Paduka Mohammad Yasmin bin Umar, Deputy Minister of Defence of Brunei, together with their high-powered entourage made a working visit to Lebanon from 29 April to 4 May 2010. The main purpose of the visit was to boost the morale of the troops serving in a peace-keeping mission under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). There are currently 736 Malaysian troops and 9 troops from Brunei.

 

Other than visiting the troops and meeting the UNIFIL Force Commander, the Honourable Datuk Dr. Abd Latiff bin Ahmad also took the opportunity during the visit to meet the Malaysians residing in Lebanon in a gathering session organized by the Embassy.
