The Ministry of External Relations of Peru hosted a cocktail to celebrate the 30th Bilateral Anniversary of Establishment of Bilateral Relations between Malaysia and Peru at the Inca Garcilaso Cultural Center on 27 April 2016. The event was officiated by H.E. Chuah Teong Ban and the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations of Peru, H.E. Eric Anderson Machado. In attendance were senior government officials, diplomatic corps, business community, friends of Malaysia and media.
At the simple ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Malaysia and Peru followed by a short remarks by H.E. Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban and the Secretary General of Foreign Ministry of Peru. In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Chuah highlighted the main milestones of the 30 years journey of bilateral diplomacy both Malaysia and Peru have embarked together. The bilateral relations have been progressing steadily culminating to many exchanges of high level visits, increase of bilateral trade, more and more people-to-people contacts and greater understanding of each other social, cultural and political intricacies.
