On 19 September 2015, the ASEAN Committee in Lima (ACL) had organized a bowling tournament among ACL members, as one of the activities planned for this year. The ACL members jointly hosted the event at the Larcomar Bowling Center in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. The event was coordinated by Malawakil Lima.
Each ACL member was represented by a team of five players and competing on collective best score. The Malaysian team was headed by H.E. Ambassador Datuk Ayauf Bachi where both Indonesian and Thailand team was led by their Charge d'affaires and Deputy Head of Mission, respectively.
The tournament went on with a cordial and friendly atmosphere where most of the players came with their family members to cheer and support the players during the game. The tournament went smoothly for 2 hours and each team played 2 rounds of games. In order to boost the competing team to perform at their best, trophies were displayed and lined up based on categories. The trophies consisting of Champion, First Runner Up, Second Runner Up and best individual player.
This year, Malaysia won first place in the tournament. Meanwhile, Indonesia won second place and Thailand third. The best individual player was from the winning team, Malaysia by H.E. Ambassador Datuk Ayauf Bachi, wining it for the second consecutive year.
The event ended with a price giving ceremony and a short remarks from Ambassador of Malaysia and Thailand. Both Ambassadors welcomed and thanked the warm participation from each ACL team and encouraged that such tradition should continue to be held in future. The Ambassador of Indonesia was not able to participate at this event because he was not in the country.
On the whole, the tournament was held in a happy environment where all players and supporters boasted ASEAN spirit. As a whole, the arrangement and the tournament went on well. Overall, the event was a successful one.
