On 27 November 2015, the ASEAN Committee in Lima (ACL) with the collaboration of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University had jointly organized the ASEAN Cultural Day at the university. The event began with a welcoming remarks by the Chairman of ACL, H.E. Datuk Ayauf Bachi and followed by Dr. Luis Cervantes Linan, the Chancellor of the University. During the welcoming speech, the Chairman of ACL had highlighted that background establishment of ASEAN in general and the formation of ASEAN Committee in Lima, Peru.
During the event, ACL countries had exhibited their arts and culture at the ASEAN booth. ACL also circulated ASEAN informative brochures to all the guests. Malaysia prepared kuih lapis and samosa and it received good commentaries from the guests. During the cultural performance, ACL member countries presented their dances and Malaysia performed tarian zapin.
The ASEAN Cultural Day celebration was attended by approximately 250 guests consisting of government officials, students, academicians from 8 different universities and business associates of ACL members.
