| On 10 September 2024, Mr. Mohamed Shahiran Mohamed Shah, Chargé d'affaires a.i represented the Ministry of Natural Resources and Natural Sustainability to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) High Level Dialogue on Mining (HLDM) in Arequipa, Republic of Peru. During this program, all APEC economies visited plants under the management of Cerro Verde, a Peruvian mining company as follows: 1. Miguel De La Cuba Ibarra Water Treatment Plant 2. Dispatch Room 3. La Enlozada Wastewater Treatment Plant 4. Cerro Verde's Copper Concentrator 5. Tio Rosen Overlook (Mine Operation) 6. SX-EW Plants Cerro Verde has shared with all APEC economies about the Cerro Verde copper mining operation in Arequipa, which involves concessions totaling 175,000 acres. CDA a.i also had the opportunity to discuss about the mining industry in accordance with the SDG 2030 with HE Romulo Mucho, Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Peru. |
