The Durian-filled-chocolate from Malaysia made its maiden appearance in Peru when the Embassy of Malaysia in Lima participated in the annual 7th Chocolate and Cocoa Exhibition held in Lima, Peru from 7 until 10 July 2016. The Embassy of Malaysia took the initiative to procure Malaysian chocolate samples and brochures for display with the cooperation and support of the Malaysian Cocoa Board. Among the flavours on the shelves were mango, coconut, tongkat ali, ginger, chilli, black sesame and many others chocolate products. Peruvian chocolate lovers were excited to savour these exotic chocolates and had asked for the contact of the suppliers.

The Embassy of Malaysia wished to record our appreciation to the chocolate makers, Vezzo Gold Chocolates and Olivia Chocolates for the courtesy samples. Other Malaysian companies which contributed brochures for promotion includes Ryverra Chocolates, Jacobs, Cocoa Jelly, Mum´s Bake Cocopie and Waf Pang.

The Embassy of Malaysia was the only foreign participation at this year’s exhibition. The organizer of the exhibition expressed its appreciation and welcomed Malaysia to the 8th Chocolate and Cocoa Exhibition in Peru next year. The event was participated by about 90 local chocolate companies in Peru and had attracted almost 9000 visitors.

Besides showcasing the chocolates, the Embassy of Malaysia also took the opportunity of the occasion to promote tourism and trade potential between Malaysia and Peru.
