| On 16 February 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Lima hosted the Handover Ceremony of the ASEAN Committee in Lima (ACL). Malaysia, as Chair of ACL 2025, officially handed over the Chairmanship to Thailand for 2026. During Malaysia’s Chairmanship, the Embassy proudly organized flagship events such as ASEAN Day and ASEAN Family Day, while actively promoting ASEAN through collaborations with local government and private partners. At the ceremony, Ambassador Ahmad Irham, Chairman of ACL 2025, symbolically handed over the ASEAN flag to Mr. Kasem Sailuenam, Chargé d’Affaires a.i./Minister Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima. The Embassy of Malaysia remains committed to strengthening ASEAN’s visibility and engagement in Peru and in other accredited countries—Bolivia, Colombia, and Panama. |
