Ambassador Chuah Teong Ban met Mr. Luis Alberto Torres Paz, Director of Export Promotions, PromPeru, an export promotion authority of Peru, on 4th April 2018. The discussions were focused on ways to strengthen bilateral trade cooperation between Malaysia and Peru to take advantage of the various tariff reductions contained in the Comprehensive Partnership on Trans Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) Agreement signed recently in Chile. Other business promotional efforts were also explored.
The bilateral trade between Malaysia and Peru has been on an encouraging trend, growing steadily every year. The potential for greater growth in exports and imports between Malaysia and Peru is promising after CPTPP comes into force.
