The Mindanao Halal for Peace and Development, Inc. (MHPDI) invited Consul General Mohammad Azhar Mazlan at the Launching of 1st Mindanao Halal for Peace and Development Forum on March 30, 2010 at the SP Session Hall, Capitol Building, Isulan Sultan Kudarat.
The Consul General delivered his speech and shared his views on the halal industry. Considering Mindanao has the potential to be the food production centre for the region, he emphasized that the halal industry can bring about a better economic standard to the Muslims because the peace issues in Mindanao are much related to poverty. He also encouraged the Muslims in Mindanao to actively participate in the halal-industry so that they can penetrate the export market. Present also were Congressman Datu Pax Mangudadatu, Al-Haj, Hon. Suharto Teng Mangudadatu, Al-Haj, SK Provincial Governor of Sultan Kudarat and community leaders and business people from all over Mindanao.
