On Saturday, 8th November, 2014, Consul General Abdullah hosted an Appreciation Lunch for 2nd BIMP-EAGA and IMT-GT Trade Show and Business Leaders Conference supporting staffs and personnel at Official Residence in Davao City.
The reception, held at the Official Residence of the Consul General was meant to convey Consulate’s sincere appreciation and gratitude to all have supported Malaysia’s delegation to the 2nd BIMP-EAGA and IMT-GT Trade Show and Business Leaders Conference.
Speaking before 45 staffs, students and security personnel, Consul General Abdullah talk about the history of ASA, ASEAN and the coming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. The similarities and differences between Malaysia and the Philippines and how citizens of both countries could enjoy the benefits of a single ASEAN market, free movement of capital and labor, education and social security opportunities. He also talked about education, economic initiatives being carried out by the Consulate to bring the two countries closer together.
The reception was well-attended and guests were treated to a variety of sumptuous Malaysian cuisine. During the reception, Consul General Abdullah and other Malaysian diplomats mingled and exchanged views with the guests.
