On Thursday, 3rd March, 2016, SM Lanang Premier and Metrobank Foundation, present “2016 Art Made Public,” which is slated from 3rd to 6th March, 2016 at the Atrium SM Lanang Premier in Davao City. The show features select winning artworks of the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence Competition (MADE) from 1984 to 2016.
Started in 1984 by Metrobank Foundation, MADE is a competition in painting, sculpture, interior design and architecture aimed to promote Philippine art and launch the careers of its winners.
Now on its 4th year, the “2016 Art MADE Public” aims to heighten public appreciation for the arts at the same time promote MADE to young Filipino artists and designers to join its recognition programs. Art exhibitions and art lectures are being held nationwide in various cultural institutions, the academe, including commercial spaces in partnership with SM Supermalls. The program brings the experience of art appreciation among the public by showcasing masterpieces in public venues while art lectures serve as venues for learning and discussion on the latest topics and trends in the fields of visual art, architecture, and Philippine culture and design.
