On Wednesday, 15th June, 2016, CG Abdullah received a copy of the Dissertation Papers titled “Trade Governance Model in the BIMP-EAGA” prepared by Drs. Soehardi from the Indonesian Consulate in partial fulfillment of the requirements for his Degree on Doctor in Philosophy in Development Administration.
The objective of the study was to improve the trade cooperation between and among the BIMP-EAGA member countries in order to escalate economic growth. Successful trade cooperation could only be achieved by providing a clear and functional trade mechanism through the development of a trade governance model applicable to the BIMP-EAGA given the dynamics of trade relations between and among the small and medium traders in the region. It would also explore relevant trade policies to be implemented.
