On 19 May 2025, Consul General of Japan, Mr. Hirotaka Ono paid a courtesy call on Consul General of Malaysia in Davao, Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh. During the call, both parties discussed ways of enhance cooperation between the consulates and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the existing friendship and cooperation.
