Consul General of Malaysia attended the Cultural Night presentation in San Pedro College, Davao City participated by the Malaysian students together with the other foreign and Filipino students of the Guild of the Arts and Sciences (GUILASS). This event is to showcase the rich tradition and cultures of the participants.
2. The cultural night was well attended by approximately three hundred people.Dr. Desiderio N. Noveno, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Rosario Oconer, Dean of Arts and Sciences, Mr. Argirie Aparicio, GUILLAS President, Ms. Ivy Duble, GUILLAS Vice President, Mrs. Mary Ann Wisco and Ms. Olivine Cocjin, GUILLAS Moderators, faculty members, guests and students of the college were present. During the show, Consul General delivered a speech where he expressed his gratitude for the invitation to witness the Malaysian students performance showcasing Malaysia’s rich and diverse culture as well as the opportunity to promote Malaysia as a tourist destination. He also gave emphasis on the importance of culture as one’s identity and sense of belonging.
3. The cultural night has been successful as a demonstration of support and cooperation the Consulate General of Malaysia has with the San Pedro College and the Malaysian students who cheerfully performed the vibrant and colorful dances and soulful songs that are Malaysia’s pride.
