On 6 December 2013, Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir and Madam Badiah Hanum Abu Bakar hosted a dinner at the residence to bid farewell to Consul Kamal Norfarid Kamarudin, and at the same time to welcome the successor, Consul Mohammad Khalil Ibrahim and spouse.
The event was well attended by the Malaysian citizens, Malaysian students, Home Based Staffs (HBS) with their spouses and the Locally Recruited Staffs (LRS) of the Consulate General of Malaysia.
As a formality, the Consul General awarded a plaque of recognition to Consul Kamal Norfarid Kamarudin in recognition of his services to the Consulate General of Malaysia for 4 years. Consul Kamal Norfarid also gave a farewell speech and thanked everybody for the assistance and cooperation to the Consulate staff members before his end of tour on 8 December 2013. He also took the opportunity to give his gratitude to Home Based Staffs (HBS) especially to the Head of Mission, Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir and Locally Recruited Staffs (LRS) of the Consulate General of Malaysia.
