HIGH TEA IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BIRTHDAY OF HIS MAJESTY
SERI PADUKA BAGINDA YANG DI PERTUAN AGONG
In conjunction with the Birthday celebration of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Consul General hosted a High Tea reception at Red Palm, Woodridge Park Club House, Davao City on 4 June 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The occasion was attended by Malaysian nationals residing in Mindanao, Home-Based Staff (HBS) and Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) of the Consulate General as well as some local Filipino friends. The program started with the recitation of the `Doa’ (Thanksgiving) by Vice Consul Nurul Ezhar Salehuddin followed by the singing of Malaysian National Anthem `Negaraku’ and 1Malaysia song.
2. Thereafter, the Consul General delivered his message in which he expressed his gratitude as Malaysia continue to enjoy peace and progress with His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the helm and under the leadership of the Hon. Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Hj Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. He also mentioned about the good ties that exist between Malaysia and the Philippines in all spheres. Emphasizing the importance for Malaysians in Mindanao to register with the Consulate, he encouranged fellow Malaysians to spread this request by word of mouth to other fellow Malaysians in Mindanao. On this auspicious occasion, the Consul General prayed for the good health and happiness of His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong.
3. After the speech, a Silat was performed by Vice Consul Nurul Ezhar Salehuddin followed by a Malaysian traditional dance by the Locally Recruited Staff. After the formalities, guests were invited to partake the food being prepared namely Roti canai, Curry ayam dan dalca, Mee goreng, Curry puff, Kueh bom, Kueh kauci and Kueh sampan while a documentary about the Installation of the King of Malaysia is being played.
