The meeting was a great opportunity to hear about 1 hour 6 minutes talked from Mayor Duterte on issues of concern such as peace and order, security in Davao City and Mindanao, BBL, Federalism, 2016 Presidency, Sabah issue, Senator Grace Poe, Binay and Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

Under Mayor Duterte leadership, Davao City’s reforms had spread to Panabo, Toril, Malagos and adjoining areas. With its strict enforcement of laws such as anti-smoking, anti-drugs, anti-littering, anti-criminal, anti-carnapping, anti-kidnapping, 60-kph maximum speed on Davao’s highways and a curfew that kept young people at home at night, Davaoeno is proudly claimed to be living in one of the safest city in the Philippines and world.

Mayor Duterte had mobilized a sense of pride in Davao City, a crucial development in any community development effort, where people themselves take up social responsibilities. There is a sense that the Davao City Government get things done, so the citizens should do their share. Duterte stint in Davao City actually builds civility and citizenship, rather than a reliance on the iron fist.

Mayor Duterte vision comes from a sense that years of broken promises have been reversed through years of sustained commitment to new ideas. Next year’s election will make Filipinos think hard of leadership. As of now, Mayor Duterte is the best choice for the Philippine President not only for Filipinos but also for Muslim communities in Mindanao.
