On Thursday, 6th August, 2015, Ambassador of Malaysia H.E. Dato’ Mohd Zamri bin Mohd Kassim, Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir, Defence Attache Col. Hamzah bin Ali, Minister Counsellor Mr. Amir Faizal bin Ahmad and Second Secretary Mrs. Siti Aliah binti Mansor paid a Courtesy Call on MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, MILF Vice Chair for Political Affairs Ghadzali Jaafar and MILF Central Committee Members at MILF Chair’s Office in Barangay Darapanan, Cotabato City.
MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad warmly welcomed the Malaysian delegation and expressed appreciation for the coming to Mindanao and at Camp Darapanan. H.E. Dato’ Mohd Zamri reiterated Malaysia’s Government strong commitment and support to the peace process as well as to continue acting as peace process facilitator and Head of the IMT as long as both parties need it. Malaysia will continue to extend to the Bangsamoro and Filipino people assistance in the field of education and human resource development through the MTCP. Malaysia will continue to assist in developing the economy through inviting and encouraging private investors to invest in the Bangsamoro and other parts of the country.
MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad, in a statement, expressed the MILF and the Moro peoples’ gratitude to the active participation of the Malaysian Government in the peace process that included the facilitation of the peace talks; heading the IMT as well as extending educational and human resource development training to selected Moro individuals particularly on capacity building, among others.
After the meeting of 1 hour and 15 minutes, a sumptuous lunch was shared by Malaysian delegation and MILF Central Committee members.
