The Consul General, Mr Mohamad Azhar Mazlan paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Rodrigo R. Duterte, Mayor of the City of Davao on 3 August 2009. The latter welcomed the new Consul General to Davao City and hoped he would have an enjoyable and productive term in Davao City. In response, the Consul General stated that he looked forward to furthering ties and cooperation between the two sides for the mutual benefit of the two peoples. Before taking leave, both sides exchanged pleasantries and gifts. During the courtesy call, the Consul General was accompanied by the Consul Zamri Zainal Anuar and the Vice Consul Anwar Mahmud.
The Consul General is on a series of courtesy calls on the important personalities in Davao City. Earlier last week, he called on H.E Ambassador Banharim A. Guinomla, Assistant Secretary Department of Foreign Affairs in Mindanao. The Consul General also paid a courtesy call on his Indonesian and Japanese counterparts.
