On 12 January 2024, Consul General Deddy Faisal held a virtual meeting with representatives of the World Bank based in Cotabato City on the topic of Islamic Banking Training for Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) officials. At the meeting, Consul General Deddy reiterated that Malaysia will continue to help the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in the Halal industry, capacity building and Islamic banking in the region, which are in line with the aspirations of both Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
