The Consul General attended the meeting with the Malaysian owned Company, Tan Chong Group last 21 January 2013. The said company recently visited Davao City to explore possible business opportunities, including the possibility of opening a retail trade distribution center that caters to automotive and consumer products. The group was met by key government executives both from the local and national agencies, as well as key players from the private sector.
During the business briefing held at the Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC), Mr. Jason Magnaye presented the city’s Investment Priority Areas as defined in the Davao City Investment Incentive Code, as well as the fiscal and non-fiscal incentives offered by the city to qualified investors. Mr. Magnaye also gave a brief overview of the tourism industry in Davao City as the group is also planning to venture into the travel and tours business.
Present during the briefing were Mr. Gil Dureza of the Board of Invesments, Mr. Ernesto Tomas Jr. of Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), Architect Daniel Lim, President of the DCCCII, Mr. Bonifacio Tan also of DCCCII and Mr. Bert Barriga of ICT Davao. The group also visited the Public Safety Command Center and Central 911.
