THE LAUNCHING OF “KAPEHAN SA EL BAJADA HOTEL” IN DAVAO CITY

Consul General Mohammad Azhar Mazlan was one of the guest speakers during the launching of a monthly media forum named “KAPEHAN SA EL BAJADA HOTEL” (where friends in media and businessmen meet every Saturday) held at El Bajada Hotel, Davao City. The other guest speakers were Hon. Eko Hartono, Consul General of Indonesia, Ms. Grace Joy S. Nasser, Head, Amanah Islamic Bank Davao City Branch, Mr. Teolulo Pasawa, Director Department of Trade & Industry, Davao City and Mr. Mac Arthur Guiamelon, El Bajada Hotel Manager. In his intervention, Consul of Malaysia raised various issues of mutual concerns between Malaysia and the Philippines, particularly with southern Philippines. The forum is a good platform for the Consulate General of Malaysia to establish rapport and contacts with the media people in Davao City. Albeit the advance of social media, the print and electronic media in Mindanao still play an important role in keeping the public informed about developments viz. politics, economy, social as well as peace and security.
