Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir accompanied by Consul Mohammad Khalil Ibrahim, Vice Consul Nurul Ezhar Salehuddin, P.A to the Consul Mohd.Natasya Johari and their spouses visited Banaybanay, Davao Oriental for the celebration of Siraton Nabi Prophet Mohammad with the Muslim community in Davao Oriental on 25-26 January 2014 . The convoy departed from Davao City at 5:00 am and arrived at the venue at 7:30 am. The Consul General and officers were welcomed by Hon.Amir Hadji Abdul Mani K. Mamukid, the Over-all Datu of Banaybanay, Congresswoman Thelma Almario, Ms.Norhaida Lumaan Al Hadj NCMF OIC and Municipal Mayor Adalia Lopez-Tambuang, Al Hadj. The program started with a prayer led by Imam Mohammad Nor R.quibo Ariel Sison, Head of Maputi Village and followed by the preaching of Former Director Sheik Bahari Camlian which tittled “Prophet Mohammad (P.B.UH.) Mercy and Blessing to Mankind and Universe” .
Consul General also delivered his message to the Muslim community during the program. He emphasized the importance of making the life story of Prophet Muhammad as a central figure in the life and faith of Muslims and he should be served as guide and example to the Muslim community to achieve harmonious life. In summation, the Consul General congratulated the different tribes of Muslim community in Banaybanay and wished everyone continued success and prosperity.
