THE WORKING VISIT OF CONSUL GENERAL MOHAMMAD AZHAR MAZLAN TO STA. MARIA, MALITA DAVAO DEL SUR ON 14 JANUARY 2012
Consul General Mohammad Azhar Mazlan visited Sta. Maria, Malita Davao del Sur where he delivered a speech as one of guests of honour at the 3-in-1 Celebrations (Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year) hosted by Mr. Deon Choo, a Malaysian businessman and his wife. The other guests were from the local government officials of Sta. Maria namely Hon. Mayor Mila Mariscal- Cabanero, Hon. Vice Mayor Rudy P. Mariscal, Chairman of SP Committee on Agriculture, Mr. Romualdo Crispino, Captain of Basiawan, Mr. Diograsio Mametes and Regional Manager of the Philippine Coconut Authority Region XI, Mr. Lornito U. Orillaneda, CESO V. Also present were local businessmen and employees of SHEENRANK Inc., a wholly foreign-owned company engaging in coco fiber manufacturing and export. The Coco fiber is processed for export to China as a base material for the production of mattresses and cushion.
In his speech, Consul General stated that as close neighbours, Malaysia and Philippines have been enjoying close relations in all spheres. And that SHEENRANK Inc., is a good example of meaningful cooperation by a Malaysian investor for the local economy, by providing employment opportunities for local people. The factory has approximately eighty (80) local employees. In summation, the Consul General congratulated and wished everyone continued success.
