The Working Visit of HE Dato’ Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad,
Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines to Bukidnon

His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines and wife Datin Seri Zainab Abd. Kader, accompanied by the Home-based Staff of the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila and their spouses and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City undertook a working visit to Bukidnon from 4 to 6 March 2011, respectively.
2. During the visit, the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and the Hon. Ignacio Zubiri, Mayor of Malaybalay City. After the courtesy call, a dinner was hosted by the Senator and the Mayor in honour of Ambassador and his delegation. On the next day, the Ambassador and his delegation attended the Pinilipayan Hu Bukidnon Festival at the Kaamulan Open Theatre, Malaybalay City where various forms of music and traditional dances of the region were performed. They also witnessed the Street Dance Festival and Competition held at the University of Bukidnon where the Ambassador met with Dr. Victor Barroso, President of the University. The Ambassador and his delegation also took the opportunity to visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration which was opened in 1885 by Spanish monks.
3. Although it was brief, the visit has been very successful in building a good rapport between the Ambassador and the Government Officials of Malaybalay City.
