Hon.Datuk Razali Che Mat, Director of Regional Development Section, Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Prime Minister’s Department led the Malaysian delegation together with Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir attended the 2014 Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) hosted by Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) held at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.
Consul General Abdullah Zawawi Tahir, was on hand to receive Hon. Datuk Razali Che Mat at the official residence as well as the other forty two (42) Malaysian delegates from private and government sectors. This year’s strategic planning meeting focused on key deliverables and priority projects in the sub-region aligned with the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. BIMP-EAGA revolves around projects and initiatives that private sector can actively pursue and where government can provide strategic role in terms of infrastructure and policy support.
The meeting has been successful in renewing the aspirations of BIMP-EAGA leaders in achieving the three core objectives i.e connectivity, food basket, and premier ecotourism destination in the four (4) countries.
