The mentioned trip to Narathiwat was undertaken with several underlying objectives, namely to pay courtesy call on the newly-appointed Governor of Narathiwat, Mr Thanon Nejkornkanon who assumed the Governor post there beginning 2nd October 2009 as well as to have discussions with relevant authorities in the Province in anticipation of a high profile visit from Malaysian leader to Thailand and Narathiwat, slotted to take place on 7-9 December 2009.
While in Narathiwat, Mr. Mohd Aini also visited key sites to be visited by the Malaysian leader during the much anticipated visit in early December; namely a boarding school called “ Suksa Songkraw School”, a fully funded government school which presently has 706 students and 86 teaching staff; Buketa or Bukit Bunga Bridge, which is located merely 3.3 kms from the school and the Narathiwat Airport, located 108 kms from the Bukit Bunga Bridge.
