In celebration of ASEAN’s 58th anniversary, H.E. Dato' Amarjit Sarjit Singh, Ambassador of Malaysia to Timor-Leste, delivered remarks on behalf of the ASEAN Embassies in Dili, under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
The ASEAN Day celebration, hosted by Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation with the support of resident ASEAN Embassies, was graced by H.E. President José Ramos-Horta, H.E. Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, and other distinguished leaders and guests — a testament to Timor-Leste’s deepening engagement with ASEAN.
As we mark this milestone, Malaysia and fellow ASEAN Embassies look forward to welcoming Timor-Leste as ASEAN’s 11th Member at the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur this October.
