12 November 2023 - The Embassy of Malaysia hosted our diaspora to a lunch gathering at Timor Lodge Hotel and Residence, to celebrate Deepavali. The event was graced by elders of the diaspora from different ethnic groups who took turns to light oil lamps placed at the two sides of a small ‘Kolam’. Aside from the delightfully prepared lunch spread (including ‘Biryani’ and ‘Teh Tarik’), 80 guests were also treated to ‘Muruku’ which was prepared by the Dili Chaper - Ladies Association of MFA.
