On Friday 18 November 2016, the Office of the Coordination of Students Support (GCAE) of the Ministry of Education of DRTL held a farewell ceremony for the scholarship students at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education at Vila Verde, Dili.
The ceremony was officiated by the Vice-Minister of Education of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mrs. Dulce de Jesus Soares. The Ambassador of Malaysia to Timor-Leste, H.E. Mrs. Chitra Devi Ramiah and the Charge d' Affaires of Thailand attended the ceremony together with the scholarship holders and their parents. The scholarships offered are in the areas such as teachers training program, engineering, law, agriculture, tourism, education, management and accountancy. Twenty three (23) students were awarded the scholarship, of which 15 students will pursue their studies at the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Malaysia and 8 students in Thailand.
