6 June 2025 - Batik Air has officially launched its first-ever scheduled direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Dili — marking a new era of connection between Malaysia and Timor-Leste.
A warm selamat datang to Flight OD372, which was greeted with a traditional water salute at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport.
This twice-weekly route opens up access to 60+ destinations across 20 countries while strengthening tourism, trade, and regional ties.
Graced by the presence of dignitaries from Timor-Leste and Malaysia, today's event was more than a celebration — it's a bold step toward a shared future.
Present at the event were H.E. Dato' Seri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs; Minister of Tourism and Environment; H.E. Miguel Marques G. Manetelu, Minister of Transportation and Communications of Timor-Leste; tourism stakeholders from both countries, the Malaysian media, and a dedicated team of Batik Air.
The Malaysian dignitary on board the inaugural flight was Honourable Hannah Yeoh Minister of Youth and Sports.
