DILI - 29th April 2011, The 140 Malaysian Formed Police Unit (FPU) from the Sabah Brigade was honoured with the UN Medal and Timor Leste Solidarity Medal as an appreciation for their services in Timor Leste. The Medal Parade which was held at the Presidential Palace of Nicolao Lobato, Dili were attended by the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, H.E. Dr. Jose Ramos Horta, Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG), H.E. Ameera Haq, UN Police Commissioner, Mr. Luis Carillho, Charge D'Affaires a.i. of the Malaysian Embassy, Mr. Azri Mat Yacob, and several high ranking UN Officials. The Malaysian FPU has served in Timor Leste since 3rd November 2010.
