A Medal Parade was held on 27 August 2008 in Comoro, Dili to honour 69 Malaysian Police who have served in the United Nations Mission (UNPOL) in Timor-Leste. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Finn Reske Nielsen, Acting Special Representative of Secretary General. Among those present was Mr. Afonso De Jesus, Commander General of PNTL and Mr. Azri Mat Yacob, the CDA a.i. of Malaysian Embassy. The sixty nine brave Malaysian Police have served in various districts in Timor-Leste for a 12 months period.
