The Government of Malaysia takes very seriously the COVID-19 virus threat which is dangerous especially with the second wave development. The Government’s priority is to contain any new spread of the disease that is feared would affect more people. The current situation requires drastic measures to be taken to improve the condition as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, in his Special Address on 16 March 2020 regarding COVID-19 has decided to implement the nationwide Restriction of Movement Order beginning 18 March 2020 until 31 March 2020. This Restriction of Movement Order is made under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967, which ordered the closure of all government and private premises from 18 March to 31 March 2020, except those involved in providing essentials services.
In this regard, all visa facilities including eNTRI, eVISA, VISA ON ARRIVAL (VOA) and VISA MALAYSIA (sticker) to all foreign citizens will be temporarily suspended in accordance with the Restriction of Movement Order with effect from 18 March until 31 March 2020.
