On 15th February 2017, representative from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia (KBS), Mr. Ajitpal Sing Santokh Singh with the representative from the Embassy of Malaysia to the DRTL in Dili held a meeting on the Rising Together – Baton Run with the Secretary of State of Youth and Sport (SEJD) of the DRTL at Sional of Dili, Timor-Leste. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about the preparation of Timor-Leste in organizing the Baton Run in Dili in conjunction with the 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN PARA Games in Kuala Lumpur 2017.
2. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the SEJD, Mr. Metodio Caetano Moniz, President of National Sports Confederation Mr. Afrânio Xavier Amaral, Secretary General for National Olympic, Mr. Mateus da Cruz, President of Olympic Committee Mr. Julio Sarmento Lopes, Chief of Department of Sports School, Mr. Alfonso Malikias, Chief of Department of High Competition Mr. Vasco Ribeiro, Secretary to the Director General, Ms. Augustinha Dias Cabral and Staff of Athletics Federation Mr. Elias de Deus and Secretary to the Secretary of State Ms. Nelia Menezes.
