On 24 – 27 March 2015, the Malaysian Trade Commissioner based in Jakarta conducted a Recce Visit to Dili. The purpose of this visit was to meet and explore possibility of cooperation in the oil and gas sector for Malaysian businessmen in Timor-Leste. The Malaysian Trade Commissioner plans to bring a group of Malaysian businessmen to Dili in August this year. Meetings were held with the CEO and President of Timor Gap, Mr. Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Commercial Director of National Petroleum Authority (ANP), Mr. Angelo Lay and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste, Ms. Claricia Lay. The Malaysian Ambassador to Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Tajul Aman Mohammad hosted dinner reception with Malaysian Diaspora. Mr. Naim Mohamad, Malaysian Trade Commissioner and his assistant, Mr. Zamzuri were also present.
