Thursday, 12 September 2019 - The Embassy of Malaysia in Dili has successfully organized a reception to commemorate the 62nd Anniversary of the National Day of Malaysia on 12 September 2019, in which the actual date falls on 31 August 2019. H.E. Dr. Dionísio da Costa Babo Soares, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste was the Guest of Honour (GOH). Around 200 invitees from the government offices; Diplomatic Corps; private sectors; NGOs; Malaysian in Dili Club (MDC) representatives as well as Malaysian residing and working in Dili turned out during the celebration. The ceremony convened with the national anthems of both Timor-Leste and Malaysia; welcoming remarks of Ambassador of Malaysia; remarks by the GOH followed by a toast for the future success of the bilateral relations of both countries. Some of the Malaysian favourite dishes were served, accompanied by the tunes of instrumental and music from the students of Safrei School of Music.
