TIMOR LESTE PRESIDENT WRAPS UP VISIT TO MELAKA

MELAKA, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- Timor Leste president Dr Jose Ramos Horta today wrapped his two-day visit to this historical city.

Earlier, Horta and delegation paid a courtesy call on the Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob at the Istana Melaka here.

Also present were Mohd Khalil's wife Toh Puan Zurina Kassim and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam.

He also visited Mamee Perfect Food in Ayer Keroh and the Timor Leste House in Bandar Hilir which houses 20 Timor Leste nationals who are pursuing their studies here under the sponsorship of welfare bodies.

Horta, who had visited Melaka when he was the foreign minister, later departed for Kuala Lumpur to continue his visit to the country.
