Since 24 July 2020, all travellers arriving in Malaysia from other countries are required to undergo mandatory quarantine at designated quarantine centres. Given current situation and scientific evidences, the Ministry of Health, Malaysia (MOH) has updated the relevant procedures, particularly by shortening the quarantine period from 14 days to 7 days for travellers who present valid RT-PCR COVID-19 negative test results; and 10 days for travellers who do not present valid RT-PCR COVID-19 negative test results.
2. In this regard, effective from 14 December 2020, travellers who are allowed to enter Malaysia must observe the following requirements:
i. Undertake RT-PCR COVID-19 test three days prior to departure to Malaysia;
ii. Pay the relevant charges to the Malaysian Government including for COVID-19 test, quarantine and hospitalisation (if relevant).
3. Furthermore, travellers are required to take the following actions:
i. Download and complete the health declaration in the ‘MySejahtera’ app prior to departure;
ii. Scan the QR code "Travellers from Overseas" by using ‘MySejahtera’ app upon arrival at the airport;
iii. Allow health officials to equip the surveillance wristband;
iv. Undertake daily self-assessment by using the Home Assessment Tool in the ‘MySejahtera’ app until Day-14 pursuant to arrival in Malaysia;
v. Undergo RT-PCR/RTK Ag COVID-19 test on Day-5 for those who present valid RT-PCR COVID-19 negative test results, or on Day-8 for those who do not present valid RT-PCR COVID-19 negative test results. If the results of these tests are negative, they will be issued with the release order on Day-7 or Day-10.
