Visit of the Malaysian Universities to Dili
The Malaysian Ambassador to Timor Leste, H.E. Amb. Tajul Mohammad hosted a dinner for a delegation from the Malaysian Universities visiting Dili. The delegation was headed by Assoc. Prof. Abdul Razak Ahmad, Principal Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education made a visit to Dili on 21 August 2013. The delegation, consisting of 11 scholars from the Universiti Malaya, University Utara Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Sabah made the visit to Dili as a final meeting for their discussion with the Timorese side on the establishment of the Dili Institute of Diplomacy Studies. Previously the meetings had taken place in Kedah and Sabah. The first meeting was conducted in Dili in 2012. The meeting also saw the signing of an MoU between the Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education and the Timorese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation on the assistance rendered in the academic and curricular aspect of the Institute.
