Ambassador Mahinder Singh met H.E. Mr William Cañas, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade in Venezuela at the Ministry of Commerce on 14 August 2013. The purpose of the call was to look at possible avenues to enhance bilateral trade relations. Apart from collaboration in cocoa and palm oil, the Venezuelan side was keen on learning Malaysia’s expertise on free trade zones and foreign investments. In this connection, Vice-Minister Cañas informed of the proposed visit by the Honourable Mr Alejandro Flemming, Minister of Commerce to Malaysia in late November 2013 on his way to the WTO Conference in Bali.
