The ASEAN Caracas Committee (ACC) under the chairmanship of Ambassador Mahinder Singh, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam hosted the 47th ASEAN Day in Caracas on 8th August 2014. The event was organised at the People’s Power Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (MRE). The diplomatic corps in Caracas and officials from the MRE were invited for the commemoration of the ASEAN Day. The event started with a wreath laying ceremony at the Simon Bolivar Square (next to the Ministry) and followed by a reception at the Foreign Ministry. Ambassador Mahinder delivered his remarks on the occasion of ASEAN Day. The guest of honour was H.E Xoan Pablo Noya, Vice-Minister for Asia, Middle East and Oceania, MRE. The guests were served with some typical dishes from the ASEAN countries while the MRE provided a few local specialities.
